We are now accepting real wedding, styled shoot and general interest/editorial submissions to be featured on our blog!

If your wedding lived in shadow rather than tradition, if it was gothic, metal, emo, romantic, pagan, industrial, ritualistic, cinematic, or quietly defiant - we want to see it. If you’re a wedding supplier who worked on a celebration that stepped outside the expected, we want to hear from you too.

We exist to showcase the beauty, creativity, and depth of dark weddings all year round.
Not just in October.
Not just under a Halloween banner.

Dark weddings are not a theme - they are a culture. A spectrum. A thousand different ways of choosing meaning over convention. And that’s what we celebrate.

Alongside weddings and shoots, we also welcome editorial and informative features from our show and directory members. We’re especially interested in thoughtful, constructive perspectives on the realities of wedding planning; pieces that offer reassurance, clarity, or permission to do things differently.

Real Weddings:

If you are newly married, or a photographer who documented a wedding you believe belongs in our world - we’d love to see it.

To begin, please email us with:

  • The couple’s names, wedding date, and location

  • A short paragraph about the wedding and why it feels right for Dark Wedding Collective.

  • A link to the full wedding gallery (with password, if required)

If your wedding is accepted, we’ll be in touch to gather further details and a full list of suppliers you’d like us to credit.

Styled Shoots

Our alternative wedding suppliers are endlessly creative, and we know how many powerful ideas live far beyond mainstream visibility.

If you’ve created a styled shoot you’re proud of; one with intention, atmosphere, or a story to tell - we’d love to consider it.

To submit, please send us:

  • A title and a brief paragraph describing the concept and inspiration

  • A list of all suppliers involved

  • A link to the image gallery (with password, if required)

If accepted, we’ll ask for more in-depth information about the shoot, the ideas behind it, and all relevant links for the suppliers involved.

Info & Editorials

Wedding planning can be magical but it can also be overwhelming. As alternative wedding suppliers, we hold knowledge and lived experience that can genuinely help couples navigate the process without losing themselves along the way.

If you have an idea for an article that:

  • offers guidance without judgement

  • challenges unhelpful norms

  • or helps couples create a wedding that truly reflects them

we’d love to hear from you.

Please send us your idea along with a few bullet points outlining what you’d like to cover.

If you have images to accompany the piece, wonderful - please include them. If not, don’t let that stop you. We can often pair editorial text with imagery from our archive of our own styled shoots.

The words matter. The rest we can weave around them.
