Intro:
Hey, I'm Laura, the heart and soul behind the lens at Laura Fitzgerald Photography and 1/5th of The Dark Wedding Collective. I'm all about capturing life's magical moments, one click at a time. From the biggest milestones to those quiet in between moments, my camera and I are here to freeze time and encapsulate the very essence of your day.
My style? Think a cocktail of dark & moody, mixed with a dash of whimsical, a sprinkle of geek chic, and a whole lot of fantasy. But it's not just about the style; it's about telling your story, your way. I'm here to bring out the uniqueness of each moment. Let's create something unforgettable together.
Your story, through my lens.
One client recently described me as a "Pinterest photographer" - high end, polished and timeless. It's a compliment I take to heart as I believe every image should feel like a dream captured in reality. If you're looking for photography that feel's as magical and extraordinary as your moment, you've come to the right place!
About
I didn’t become a wedding photographer the usual way.
I became one after my own wedding photos were ruined. They were out of focus, overexposed, and completely soulless. Our photographer, a friend, bailed last minute without telling us. His replacement was unprofessional, and the result left me heartbroken.
Out of thousands of images, I salvaged ten. That pain became my purpose.
Now, I’m the photographer I needed that day, someone who shows up, gives a damn, and captures every moment with care, creativity and intention. No one deserves to feel what I did. That experience didn’t just shape my photography style, it shaped my entire ethos.
I believe wedding photography is about so much more than beautiful images. It’s about creating an experience where you feel heard, seen, and supported from start to finish. That’s why I give so much help and guidance around wedding planning. Because I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed, especially when you’re neurodivergent, disabled, or navigating this while trying to hold true to your authentic self. It’s not just about logistics; it’s about creating a space where you can be your whole self without judgment.
I’m here to be your calm, grounding presence.
To make sure your day runs smoothly. To offer tips that go beyond photography—like how to handle sensory overload, what to consider when choosing a venue that works for everyone, or how to make your timeline inclusive and flexible. I share what I’ve learned not just from my own disaster but from years of working with couples who needed that extra bit of care.
My photography isn’t just about the technical stuff, it’s about heart. It’s about capturing honest, raw, and beautiful moments that reflect who you really are. It’s about respecting every identity, every dynamic, and every need. Whether you’re LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, disabled, or just want someone who’ll listen and make you feel seen, I’m here for that.
This experience of being let down, not just by a friend, but by someone in the industry I trusted, has driven me to build a photography practice built on empathy and real connection. I know how vulnerable it feels to put your trust in someone on such an important day. That’s why I show up early, plan meticulously, and stay fully present throughout your day. I offer a calm, reassuring presence and ensure your experience is as positive and stress-free as possible. It’s about creating a partnership where you feel supported, valued, and confident. Not just in the photos we create but in the entire experience of your wedding day.

Averagely it takes me 6-8 weeks to edit all the photos and send them to you. Sometimes this can be more or less depending on the season. I recommend 12 weeks during peak seasons. However, you will be informed about the timing in advance.

All packages include one photographer, myself.
I work solo to provide a consistent, personalised experience. However, if you'd like a second photographer for wider coverage, this can be arranged at an additional cost. Pricing varies based on the availability of trusted professionals whose style complements the aesthetic you're after.
All images, whether captured by me or a second shooter, are carefully edited by me to ensure a cohesive final gallery. That said, depending on which second photographer joins us, you may be lucky enough to receive an additional gallery in their unique style as a bonus treat.
